India is mentioned twice in the Bible. In Esther 1:1, we read that King Ahasuerus ruled over 127 provinces from India to Ethiopia. Later, Esther 8:9 describes how an edict was written “to each province in its own script and to each people in its own language.” This profound moment in Scripture highlights the importance of communicating God’s Word in every language, a mission that continues today.

Formalized in 2018, India Bible Study began with one clear mission: to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to India in every native language.

Inspired by The Lutheran Study Bible, we are committed to faithfully translating its rich study notes and commentary.

Serving Diverse Languages

Our goal is to reach India’s diverse population by translating into all 15 major Indian languages, starting with five core southern and northern languages.

Equipping the Church

Through these translations, we aim to equip believers, churches, and communities with biblically sound and accessible resources for generations to come.

From One Language to Many

Our Journey So Far

Formed in 2018, India Bible Study is committed to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with Indian-speaking communities worldwide. Our mission started with a vision to translate The Lutheran Study Bible (LSB) reflections and commentary into the 15 major languages of India. With our initial efforts focused on five languages: Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu, we are steadily progressing towards our bold goal of making the Word of God accessible in every major Indian language.
